Solomon Phares died in 1903 when Pop was 5 or 6 years old. Alice Harper/Phares then married Miles Flynn. I believe that they had a daughter, Jessie (Mrs. Clark Woodell)

Notes
Johnson is buried in the Ben Phares Farm Cemetery. He was a lieutenant in the second battalion, 46th regiment under Isaac Hinkle and was captain of the Pendleton Co. Militia in 1793. He also served as a constable in Pendleton Co.

John is known to have lived in Philadelphia until 1729 and was in Augusta Co., VA in 1750 when he bought 150 acres of land next to Arthur Johnson. His will dated 4 Sep 1785 in Augusta Co., VA. names only his wife, Agnes, and sons-in-law Job Reynolds and William Faris. He was still living and taxed on 1 Jun 1787 but died a few months later since his will was proved in Augusta Co. on 16 Oct 1787. His wife, Agnes, and son-in-law, William Faris were named as executors. John's date of birth has not been proved.

Notes
John Phares (Faris) , a brickmaker or brick layer, was apparently the progenitor of the Phares family in this country and was almost certainly of Scotch-Irish descent. He probably came to this country from the British Isles and was known to have been in the Philadelphia area in the early 1700's. He later moved to Burlington Co., NJ where he spent the rest of his life. John's date of birth has not been proved but he died some time before 20 Sep 1736 when the administration of his will was given to his widow, Mary. An inventory was taken on 24 Sep 1736 but no list of heirs is found in the probate records
